I’ve been researching EVs recently before buying one, and honestly, lithium-ion batteries are clearly ahead. They’re lighter, charge faster, and last much longer compared to lead-acid batteries. Most modern EVs in India now use lithium-ion because of better efficiency and range. Lead-acid batteries are cheaper, but they require more maintenance and have shorter lifespans.
A friend of mine used a lead-acid setup in an older EV, and he had to replace it much sooner than expected. Lithium-ion might feel expensive upfront, but in the long run, it’s more practical. That’s why almost all major EV brands have shifted to lithium-ion, it just makes more sense for performance and durability.
