I don't think that India should and India will. There are several reasons for this:
- First of all India doesn't have the infrastructure in order to host something like Olympics, the biggest event of sports. You would say India could develop such an infrastructure but the failure of India in case of Commonwealth games can't be forgotten.
- Then again the problem of providing the athletes with world class training equipments would again pose a difficulty. Again the failure of the India to provide cycles to riders for training comes to my mind again.

The views on this much controversial question can be opposing. Abhinav Bindra once said that if we can win 40 Gold medals in Olympics then we can surely host the event here in India. But is it that simple, let’s see:
If we look at the current infrastructure, I would say no, but if we see it according to the weather conditions found in India, I would say yes, we can surely host the Olympics.
If we look at the 2010 Commonwealth games scam, I would say no, but if we see that India has been a great host to various international sports events like Hockey Worldcup (1981–82), Hockey World Cup 2010, Cricket world cup 2011, and FIFA Junior Worldcup 2017, I would say yes, India can manage hosting Olympics.
If we say that the politicians will get the charge of the event, I would say no, it’s a horrible idea, and if we say that the charge would be in the hands of a committee consisting of various sports experts and analysts, I would say we can pull this off with flying colors.
India is full of corrupted politicians and moneymakers but it has great potential as well. So the debate in never-ending. Hosting Olympics can also invite negative controversy from foreign media if we fail to manage the event. So I think a lot of speculations and preparations need to me made before we think of hosting Olympics in India.
