Android OS is ruling the mobile world for more than a decade. And think about the Android as an operating system for your PC. Amazing ! That is what Remix OS was. Remix OS was a Android version of operating system built on the open source Androidx86 project for desktop computers. It was developed by Jide Technology, a company founded by three former employees of Google. Remix OS was created to open the door for Android applications to run in PCs.
In January 2016, Jide introduced a Beta version of their OS called Remix OS for PC which is based on Android system. And The beta version comes with hard drive installation, 32 bit support, UEFI support and OTA updates. It was like Linux and ran in even slow computers. It was like windows OS in looks and user interface with multi window functionality like Linux.
On July 17th 2017, Jide technology discontinued the Remix OS and some other related products. It will no longer sell the product to consumers. Jide Technology wanted to restructure the product . And other reason according to the company was, it wanted to concentrate on business expansion. That was the reason for the discontinuation of Remix OS. And it is not clear whether it will develop and sell the Remix OS in the future or not.
So there is no point in install Remix OS on PC as the product and its support is discontinued.
