How to make Shami Kabab?



All non-veg lovers get all attentive at the name of Shami Kabab! Indeed it’s a delicious delight for all of us. Also, it is very easy to make.

• Mutton Keema: 500 gram
• Gram dal (soaked in lukewarm water): ½ cup
• Onion: 1
• Garlic: 10-12 buds
• Ginger: 1 medium piece
• Coriander seeds: 2 teaspoon
• Clove: 1 teaspoon
• Green cardamom: 1
• Black cardamom: 2
• Cinnamon: 2 small pieces
• Bay leaf: 1
• Black pepper seeds: 5
• Red chili (chopped): 3
• Salt: According to taste
• Oil: According to requirements

Ingredients for the stuffing:

• Onion (chopped finely): 1
• Mint leaves: 1 tablespoon
• Green coriander leaves (finely chopped): 2 tablespoons
• Green chili (finely chopped): 2
• Semolina: ½ tablespoon
• Salt: According to taste


• Wash the mutton keema and drain out all the water from it by squeezing.

• Now mix keema, gram dal, onion, garlic, ginger, coriander seeds, clove, green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, black pepper, red chili, and salt in a pressure cooker.

• Cover the lid of the cooker and cook till two whistles.

• Let it cool after two whistles.

• Then grind everything in the mixer, along with onion, mint leaves, green coriander leaves, green chili, and salt.

• Mix semolina in the mixture and make flat kabab balls.

• Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the kabab balls in it.

• Serve with green chutney.
