A leaked media report in January 2019 said that the unemployment rate in India was highest in FY18 at 6.1%, and the Opposition was accusing the Modi government of suppressing the data. But after the elections, now the government accepted that the current unemployment rate in India is 45% higher than even before in last seventy years.
