Piercing baby's ears with guns can cause infection in their eardrums. The signs are there to prevent infection and possible damage to an infant's eardrum, and there are chances that your child will come down with a bacterial or viral infection just because they have both ears pierced.
In some cases, babies can contract an ear infection in their first few months of life, but it is not uncommon for a toddler to get an ear infection as well. Most ear infections present no symptoms and clear up without treatment within days. If your child does experience any pain or discomfort, let your doctor know about it so that a culture can be drawn.
