Before this you’d have seen animals and birds being trained only for performing is circus, which would earn the trainer or the master, great amounts of money. But this step of training crows and rooks for picking up garbage in a French theme park is solely from the point of view of teaching the citizens the lesson of clean environment.

The crows which are trained to do this task are named Boubou, Bamboo, Bill, Black, Bricole and Baco. Whenever they collect garbage and put it in the receptacle in Puy de Fou park of France, they are awarded with something to eat.

According to the trainers, crows, ravens, and rooks, are very intelligent birds and they had earlier been trained for performing tasks like tearing paper in specific shapes and retrieving the lost money. They just used the old technique to achieve a greater purpose.

"The purpose of the crows ... is to educate the people, to open their minds, to think, 'OK, the birds are able to do something that we are much more able to do than them, so we should do this by ourselves'," park president Nicolas de Villiers told NPR. (Source: Business Insider).
