Parts of the camshaft?

John Rowe

All parts of the camshaft play an important role. The operation is controlled by pear-shaped lobes, called cams, which are on an axis of rotation, -'the camshaft ', proper-, and which is driven by a chain, a belt or a set of gears from the crankshaft. When the camshaft is mounted on the engine block, small metal cylinders (known as tapper glasses or simply as tappers) gather in channels on each cam and from there, the metal valve pusher elements are they extend to the stock.
