In the present times, Vaastu Shastra has more importance than even Astrology. People, who are building their house, or renovating their office, always consider consulting a Vaastu expert before making any major changes and before deciding the place and direction of everything and every place.

Following are some tips that should be kept in mind while placing things according to Vaastu Shastra.
• Don’t plant those plants in the home which have white sap. Such plants welcome “Vaastu Dosh” in your house, and affects your health negatively.
• The objects used for cleaning the house –like broom, mop, and a duster –should be kept only in the South of the house. Such objects should never be kept below staircase as it anger Goddess Lakshmi.
• Never keep cash or any valuable object in the upper part of cupboard or closet. Such things should be kept in the middle part. If there’s a file regarding any court case, don’t keep it inside a cupboard.

• Always keep the “Agnay Kona” neat and clean. The Eastern and Southern part of the house is known as “Agnay Kona”. Water tank should not be built in this part. No water should be let out in this direction.
• The broken mirror should never be kept inside the house. Also, two mirrors should never be hanged facing each other. Doing so can affect your financial prospects.
• The place of worship should be either in the East or in the North. Portrait of a dead person should never be kept in the place of worship.
