Please don’t judge as a misogynist or something, but I think the main reason behind so many actresses accusing big Bollywood stars is the limelight they would get. I think they are taking an advantage of the air of feminism that is sweeping men like anything. False accusations of sexual assault is nothing new, by the way. We have seen lives of enough men getting destroyed due to false dowry cases, rape cases, and assault cases being reported against them.
Take Tanushree Dutta for example. I don’t know why she took years to open up about her assault. I really think that (some) women keep looking for the “rightest time” to report such cases, and would even report the moments of intimacy, they had with their own consent as sexual assault if they find their advantage in it.
So according to me the major reason is the limelight they get by such accusations, because had they really wanted to report, they would have done it when they faced it. What’s the point of waiting for something like #meetoo to start, is beyond my realms of comprehension.
