DuckDuckGo is a search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized results. Search results come from multiple sources, including Yahoo!, Bing, and Wikipedia. DuckDuckGo emphasizes returning the best result, rather than the most result or most popular result.
The website was founded by Gabriel Weinberg in 2008 as an alternative to Google. In January 2017, DuckDuckGo reached 10 million searches per day. In December 2016 it had been reported by comScore that DuckDuckGo amassed 2.35 million unique visitors in November 2016.
As of April 2018, the company is valued at US$1 billion (GBP 0.72 billion).
