Pascal's law or principle applies to pressure transmission in fluids. The principle is applied primarily in the operation of hydraulics such as in car brakes and Falk lifts. Pascal's principle states that pressure in an incompressible fluid contained in an in expansible vessel is transmitted equally in all direction.

This law tells us how pressure can be transmitted in a fluid.
It is stated as follows :
A change in pressure applied to an enclosed incompressible fluid is transmitted undiminished to every point of the fluid and the walls of the containing vessel.
This law can be proved by two principles :
1. The force on any layer of a fluid at rest is Normal to the layer .
2. Newton's first law of motion.
