This happened a couple of months ago. I noticed a junior in my college struggling with internship applications. She seemed confused about resumes and LinkedIn, so I just offered to help. We spent a few evenings fixing her CV and practicing interviews. I didn’t expect anything out of it, honestly; it just felt right to help. A few weeks later, she messaged me saying she got selected for an internship. That moment felt more satisfying than any personal achievement. I think we often underestimate how small efforts can impact someone’s life. It wasn’t a big thing for me, but for her, it made a real difference. That’s when I realized helping without expectations actually feels the most genuine.
