There are many fasts and festivals that fall in the month of April, and all have a special significance associated with them.

The first among them is the Chaitra Navratri which, this April are starting from 6th. The nine days of Navratri are for the worship of Goddess Shakti.

Apart from Chaitra Navratri, the festivals that come in the month of April are as follows:
April 5th: Chaitra Amawasya
Amawasya of the month of Chiatra that falls in Krishna Paksh is very important in Hinduism. According to the popular belief, praying on this day provides salvation to our ancestors.
April 7th: Chetichand (Jhulelaal Jayanti)
It is the main festival of Sindhis. The day is celebrated widely as Jhulelaal Jayanti. According to the Sindhi belief, the day marks the beginning of the auspicious day of Vikram Samvat. It is believed that in Vikram Samvat 1007, 951 AD, the god himself was born in the form of a child. The woman that bore this child was from the house of Ratanrai of Nasarpur, Sindh Province. The child was named Udaichand and he was born to ward off evil and kill sinners from the face of earth.
April 13th: Ramnavmi
It is the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, and according to the Hindu belief, Lord Ram was born on this day.
April 14th: Mesh Sankranti
This day also, is important for the salvation of our dead ancestors. Lord Shiva and the Sun God are worshipped on this day. Fasting on this day is beneficial.
April 15th: Kamda Ekadashi
There are two Ekadashi in every month. On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshipped. All wishes are fufilled by fasting on Kamda Ekadashi.
April 17th: Pradosh Vrat (Shukla)
On Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva is worshipped. This fast has an immense importance in Hinduism and falls on the 13th day after Amawasya. By fasting on this day, you can wash away all your sins.
April 19th: Hanuman Jayanti
This is the birthday of Lord Hanuman. The 11th avatar of Lord Shiva, Hanuman took birth on the planet as the son of Anjani. According to the popular belief, Lord Hanuman still resides on earth as Lord Ram gave him the boon of being there in Kaliyug.
April 22nd: Sankashti Chaturthi
In Hinduism, before starting any good work, worshipping lord Ganesha is mandatory. Worshipping Lord Ganesha and fasting for him on this day fulfills all your wishes. It is good to begin a work on this day. It will surely bear desirable fruits.
April 30th: Varuthini Ekadashi
Fasting on this day makes you get rid of all the sins. Varuthini Ekadashi falls on the Krishna Paksha of the month of Vaishakha. On this day, you should give up gambling, sloth, drinking, stealing, violence, anger, lies, and other bad habits to bear good fruits in life.
