Try the amazing doodle and see it for yourself. Google, as a tribute to the great German musician Johann Sebastian Bach on his birth anniversary, combined Google Magenta and Google PAIR. While Magenta allows users to make music through Machine Learning, PAIR helps Google’s machine learning tools to be accessed by everyone.

What these two teams of Google did collaboratively was to create a model, called Coconet with around 306 harmonizations of Bach. If you use this Doodle, you will be able to produce your own Bachian music. I tried it and shared the self-composed harmonization with friends on Facebook and Twitter.

So the question now arises that why Google paid this special tribute to this musician. Here’s what the team that prepared the Coconet has to say:

Yes, that was the magic of Johann Sebastian Bach. Born in 1685 in Eisenach, Germany, he belonged to a family which bred musicians for many generations. His father, who was the director of musicians in the town, died when he was just 10 years old. He was then raised to be a musician by his brother, who himself practiced the same art.

Bach not only made for himself as an extraordinary organist, but he was also known for his pace of composing notes. Although the major number of works of his were published posthumously, his existing manuscripts of music notes are still played and performed worldwide.

So it was as a tribute to the great music collection that Bach has left as his legacy behind for us that Google made this special doodle for him.
