Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starring "Tiger Zinda Hai" was selected in IFFI 2018 for Indian Panorama list. But Rajinikanth’s Kaala failed to get the spot in the list. Audience and critics are not able to digest this fact that a movie which redefined the symbolism of colours black and white in cinema failed in front of a totally commercial film like Tiger Zinda Hai.

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is Asia's most significant film festival. The festival provides a platform to celebrate the art of cinema. There are different categories for showcasing a different kind of cinema. Indian Panorama in among the category.

So, What could be the reason that Tiger Zinda Hai manages to get in the category but not Kaala?
The answer to this question lies in the Submission guideline of the IFFI Indian Panorama category. The category feature, "maximum of 26 Feature films and 21 Non-Feature films distinguished by cinematic, thematic and aesthetic excellence."

If we talk about them of both the movies Kaala was a brave and unprecedented portrayal of a situation or issue lay in the core of society. While Tiger Zinda Hai didn't offer anything new but its cinematic and aesthetic excellence was noticeably better then Kaala. This can be a reason which gave Tiger Zinda hai an Upper hand over Kaala.

Another reason could be that the film fraternity is still not ready for a movie like Kaala which is a different kind of cinema altogether.

There is no official reason is given for denying Kaala and accepting Tiger Zinda hai by IFFI.
