"I'd like to die on Mars, just not on impact", said Elon Musk once, and his wish became popular worldwide in the form of a relatable quote. In the near future however, his plans are to make a privatized moon ride by sending his company’s the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR) to the moon in 2023.

Whether he would go with the BFR or not, is still unclear. This is because all the seats of the BFR have been purchased by the Japanese Billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa, founder and CEO of Zozotown, Japan’s largest online clothing retailer.

But can’t he take the CEO of the company which is organizing this space tour? Well, according to him, Musk can surely join him, but his first priority is the artists from all over the world.

Just FYI, Maezawa is a renowned art lover who spends millions in collecting art pieces from around the world. So this art enthusiast wants to document not only the week the team would spend on the moon, but all the memories they created, the feeling they felt, and the beauty of the space that they experienced, in the form of art. Surely, no one can do it better than some artists. This is why this space mission in termed as #dear_moon:

‘I choose to go to the Moon with artists!’ says Yusaku Maezawa.

As for the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, he is grateful that someone has purchased the seats and is donating them to artists around the world so that a legacy could be created for humanity. Musk says that the ride to the moon would be riskier but not as much as to the Red Planet. So he might as well join the tour, if Maezawa lets him to.

So if things go according to the plan, we’d see two billionaires and 6-8 artists (which are yet undecided) going on the first ever private tour to the moon.
