Ashutosh Gowarikar is a famous and renowned director in the bollywood film industry, he also acted in many Hindi films, Marathi films, tv serials and commercials. His transition from acting to direction is quite exciting and was quite destined. His films mostly consists of period dramas which actually make you experience the lifestyle of that time and we cannot miss the grandness , intensity and hard work that he puts in all of his projects.

1. Lagaan

Lagaan is a period drama starring Aamir Khan, Raghuvir Yadav and Gracy Singh in lead characters. The film is directed, written and screenplay by Ashutosh Gowarikar, it is an adventure and drama film which is based on the time of British rule in India. The people of a small village in Victorian India stake their life’s and future on a game of cricket against the injustice which was forced by British rulers.

The story revolves around a successful Indian scientist who returns to his village in India to take his aunt along with him to America. But sooner or later he realises about his roots and from where he belongs.
