When it comes to dealing with heart attacks and the signs of people who are experiencing a heart attack, there are a lot of misconceptions. If you notice even a single symptom that the pain or discomfort you're experiencing might be a heart attack, get medical care right once. Some individuals assume that pain must be severe or unbearable before seeking medical help.

  1. With deep breath, pain is more of a weight, pressure, or crushing sensation than acute, stabbing, or worse. It might cause pain in the jaw, back, or upper left arm. Angina pectoris can be stable if it is brought on by effort alone, or unstable if it occurs when doing nothing at all.
  2. Adrenaline is released as part of the fight or flight reaction. Shortness of breath, profuse and chilly sweats (also known as diaphoresis), a high heart rate, and a lack of excellent judgement are all symptoms of diaphoresis. Diabetics may have nerve damage and be unaware that they are experiencing chest discomfort.
  3. Palpitations can be fibrallitions of the atrium or ventricle, and are produced by a malfunction in the electrical fibres of the heart. Torsades de pointes, a particularly dangerous type of ventricular fibrillation, can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated quickly.
  4. The chest discomfort associated with a heart attack may not be unbearable, but it is certainly unpleasant. This discomfort is believed to come and go, and it feels like a pressure on the sufferer's chest or a squeezing sensation. The middle of the victim's chest is usually the source of any pain or discomfort.
  5. Nausea is frequently linked to the early warning signs of a heart attack. This symptom, when combined with stomach discomfort, can lead to the heart attack being misdiagnosed as a normal stomach ache or stomach virus. Shortness of breath can range from a difficulty to catch one's breath to an inability to breathe correctly.
  6. People who have had a heart attack have been known to break out in a cold sweat, which can lead to a misdiagnosis of the flu or a less serious illness. Other signs and symptoms include a general sense of discomfort and a sense that things isn't quite right.
