58 percent of 18-24-year old Americans believe astrology is scientific (which it’s NOT btw!). In fact, astrology is now more prevalent than ever, reaching to different corners of the world thanks to internet. Many people read their horoscopes every day. Majority of them believe in what they read.

Fact is, in the absence of any scientific substance to it, horoscopes ARE NOT TRUE. They don’t fall within the proximity of common sense. Yet many people believe them. WHY?

There are plenty of reasons behind that. One major reason is the psychological comfort that horoscopes provide. We don’t know what the future holds for us—but we want to because we’re looking for certainties in our lives. When we read our horoscopes, we get to know what’s going to happen with us. And we love it to an extent that we believe it to be completely true. And we continue doing this – trusting horoscopes – even when things turn up to be false every time.

As the human nature goes, we’re continuously looking for comfort in our future. And this is what horoscopes offer us. So majority of us love astrology.

Another reason why many trust what astrologers say is their own spiritual belief. These people are more religious—so it is quite fitting that they believe in horoscopes.

At large, these are basic reasons why, even when it’s not true, people trust horoscopes.
