Sound is a mechanical wave, which means it needs a medium (like air, water, or solids) to travel. Space is a vacuum, meaning it has almost no particles. With no particles to transmit vibrations, sound waves can't propagate.

Quick Comparison:

MediumCan Sound Travel?Speed of Sound
Air (at sea level)✅ Yes~343 m/s
Water✅ Yes~1,480 m/s
Steel✅ Yes~5,960 m/s
Space (vacuum)❌ No0 m/s

So in summary:
Sound doesn’t travel in space at all, much less faster.
