An intercom or intercommunication device is a door phone or can also be called as a talkback, a stand-alone device for voice communications within a building or small collection of buildings. It is a communication device with a two-way feature and contains circuits to make transmission and receiving of audio. Intercoms allow you to speak into a microphone, in order to be heard on the speaker which would be placed at a different location.
They can either single line, single button, or with a door buzzer panel. Different types of intercoms are Wireless intercoms, Wired Intercom System, Video Intercom, Apartment Intercoms, Two-way Radios, and Security Intercom Systems.
