Google’s RankBrain Algorithm is an AI which is used to monitor the user behaviour on the Google SERP’s and modify the ranks of the web pages on the SERP based on that. When it comes to RankBrain Algorithm, Dwell time is one of the important thing to consider. Dwell time is the amount of time duration spent by the normal user who lands on your webpage from the Google SERP. If users spend more time in your website, then Google AI will consider that some potential content is present in your website for that particular search query and hence will give a rank boost to your website. Also, if the user leaves your webpage in a quick time without spending much time in your website, then there are more chances of your webpage rank to get dropped by Google RankBrain.

Not only the dwell time, it also monitors the users activity on the SERP, that is if the user searches for some term and if the Click Through Rate of the web page ranking at #4 or below position is more than the Click Through Rate of the webpage ranking on top. Then according to Google’s AI, the web page which is ranking at #4 or below positions with the high Click Through Rate will ideally get a rank boost and move to top.
