How many job applications has railway received for 1 lakh vacancies?

India's one of largest employment sectors,Railway is going to conduct the online exams for around 1 lakh posts in group C and group D category and for 9,500 openings in the Railway Protection Force.
The railways has received over "two crore'' applications for about one lakh vacancies. According to Railway Ministry Official,Till date, over 2 crore candidates have applied for the posts and the number will rise further as five more days remain before the deadline comes to an end.
The online exams will be held for several group C and group D vacancies and for assistant loco pilots and technicians alone, over 50 lakh online applications have been received so far. These numbers are supposed to rise further as there are still five days remaining for the online registration to end.
