Well, of course, since everyone pays income tax according to their earnings, the same applies even to all the Indian cricketers. It depends on how much they make annually.

For example, MS Dhoni is one of the highest-paid Indian cricketers. As the recent news has confirmed, he is also the highest taxpayer in Bihar Jharkhand, paying a total of Rs 12.15 crore this financial year. Even in the 2013-2014 FY, he was the highest taxpayer in the state, shelling a whopping Rs 20 crore.

Talking about the highest-paid Indian cricketers, of course, we can’t move on without talking about the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R. Ashwin. Although there are no official words as of late as to how much they pay in tax, one can easily imagine that it’s very big. These players enjoy an annual salary of Rs 12 crore. Plus, particularly Virat Kohli who is an ambassador of countless brands, his earning has to be spectacularly high. So, it’s very likely that he’s paying more than MS Dhoni in income tax. Again, there are no official words on this. These are mere speculations.

The Indian cricketers in the grade A group pay high taxes. Because they earn high.

Now talking about the retired players like Ganguly, Tendulkar, Laxman, and Dravid—again, there are no official words on how much income tax they pay. But given they are retired and have less source of income, their income tax amount has got to be like any other high-end Indian businessman’s.

Honestly, it’s extremely hard to even guess a figure. These are some of the highest-paid Indian cricketers – current and past. They have multiple sources of Income. How much they are making annually can’t be confirmed. So, we don’t know how much they are taxed. But believe it, they are paying more than you and me in tax.
