If your computer asks for a WPS PIN while connecting a wireless printer, don't worry—the PIN is generated by the printer, not the router. On most printers with a display, open Settings > Network/Wireless > Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) > PIN to generate an 8-digit code. If your printer doesn't have a screen, print the Network Configuration or Wireless Information page to find the WPS PIN. HP, Canon, Epson, and Brother printers all support this feature on many wireless models, although some entry-level models only support the WPS Push Button method. Remember that the generated PIN is temporary and usually expires within 90 seconds, so enter it promptly during setup. If the PIN expires, simply generate a new one and try again.
