Unless you’re extremely experienced in your niche, you shouldn’t be expecting a job in BCCI. I personally feel, the board is a classic case of nepotism. If you don’t have source, if you don’t know someone there, it would be almost impossible to get a decent job there.

But if you want to try there, you should definitely take the chance. The preparation should begin a year ago if you want to improve your chances of getting hired. First, you need to know if there’s really a space for talent like you or if you fit any of their profiles. If yes, you should prepare to improve yourself to be the most ideal candidate for that profile.

They would usually ask for at least of 5 years experience in any post you’re applying to. If you have that much of experience, you’re fine. If not, you should fill what you lack in experience with what kind of work you have done in the past and the kind of high-profile people you know personally.

Plus, one year preparation phase also gives you the chance of networking with the right people to get recommendations. Remember, there are lacs of people trying for the same post as you. So it’s going to be very tough. All you have to do is strive to outdo each one of these candidates—be it with your personality, technical knowledge, education, experience or creativity.

Getting a job in BCCI usually depends on professional background and experience because most roles are corporate, management, media, operations, legal, analytics, or event-related positions. Openings are sometimes posted officially, while networking in the sports industry also helps. Roles can include marketing, sponsorship management, finance, media coordination, logistics, digital content, and cricket operations.

People with sports management, business, media, or analytics experience often have better chances. Honestly, many people think BCCI jobs are only about cricket players, but most positions are actually corporate and administrative. The sports industry has grown massively now, so there are many behind-the-scenes career opportunities too.
