As they say, prevention is better than cure.

When playing Holi, avoid carrying your Smartphone in your hand or pocket. It's just a matter of a few hours. Keep it somewhere safe in your room (cupboard, maybe).

If you're expecting an important call, time that call and your Holi-celebration accordingly and ahead.

A day or two before, if needed, you can also inform all your friends and family members that you won’t be available to take calls and respond to texts on the day of Holi. Text them. Or broadcast the message on your Whatsapp.

This way, you won’t have to carry around your phone when playing Holi. And you won't drop it in water.

• Another precautionary measure you can take is wrapping your phone in plastic or purchasing water-proof cover or case…

BUT these are all the precautions…

What if it has already happened? What if water has already entered your phone while playing Holi?

Here are some quick do's and don’ts:

• DO take your phone out of water (or wipe off the water from its surface) as quickly as possible.

• DO turn it off quickly, if it isn’t already.

• DO use clean cotton or paper towel to soak the phone dry. (Make sure not to spread the water.)

• DO remove everything that you can. The SIM, SD card, and battery (if removable).

• DO NOT turn it on quickly. Leave it off for at least 24 hours.

• DO NOT use a blow dryer to dry the water. A mistake many people make. This worsens the damage.

• DO NOT press any buttons.

• DO NOT shake or bang it. Keep it in an upright position.

• DO bury your phone in a bag of uncooked rice. Leave it there for a day or two. Rice will absorb the water and dry it out.

• DO turn your phone on after a day or two. If it gets turned on, good! If not (or if it does but is performing with glitches), you need to take it to the service center.
These are some do's and don'ts on what you should if water enters your phone when playing Holi.

Hope this helps!

Happy Holi :)

Holi is nearby and everyone is excited about it but no one wants to regret after playing, so you can follow the given methods to keep your phone safe on holi:

Firstly you should try to keep it at a safe phone on your home and avoid taking it anywhere outside but that is not possible every time, so you can

- try using ziplock pouches

- Cover your mobile with balloon skin.
