How to Remove Gmail Profile Picture?

To remove your Gmail profile picture, open your Google Account, go to Personal info, select Photo (or Profile picture), and choose Remove. On mobile, tap your profile picture in the Gmail app, select Manage your Google Account, open Personal info, tap your current photo, and choose Remove.

When you remove your profile picture, Google replaces it with a default avatar showing the first letter of your account name. Google Accounts do not support having a completely blank or transparent profile image.

Remove Your Gmail Profile Picture on Desktop

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com and sign in.
  2. Click Personal info from the left menu.
  3. Under Basic info, select Photo or Profile picture.
  4. Click Remove.
  5. Confirm the change if prompted.

Remove Your Gmail Profile Picture on Android or iPhone

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Manage your Google Account.
  4. Open the Personal info tab.
  5. Tap your current profile photo.
  6. Select Remove and confirm.

If the Profile Picture Does Not Disappear Immediately

Users sometimes notice that the old image continues to appear in certain places after removal. Common reasons include:

  • Cached data in the Gmail app or web browser.
  • Contact photos stored in other people's address books.
  • Synchronization delays across Google services such as Gmail, Drive, Meet, and Docs.
  • Organization-managed Google Workspace accounts that have additional directory synchronization processes.

In most cases, the change appears in your Google Account immediately, while visibility across all services and contacts may take additional time.

If you use a work, school, or organization-managed Google Workspace account, your administrator may control profile photo permissions. If you cannot see the Remove option or the setting is unavailable, contact your organization's IT administrator.

Important Note About Previous Profile Photos

Removing your current Gmail profile picture does not necessarily delete previously uploaded photos stored elsewhere in your Google account. If you want older profile images removed as well, review your Google Photos or other Google account storage areas where those images may still exist.

In Gmail's Settings Gmail>>Settings>>"My Picture", through your contacts Search for your self by e mail deal with and spot what photograph seems. If you've got a "Send as" deal with that is dealt with as an alias, Gmail could reference the profile picture used for that Google account.

If nonetheless not works, try some troubleshooting things:

  1. Press numerous times F5 that refreses the Gmail
  2. Clear your cache and coockies
  3. Disable TEMPORARELY your anti-virus checker
  4. Open personal window/secure mode
  5. Change browser to peer if the problem persists
  6. Log out and log on your account

or

  1. Go to https://aboutme.Google.Com
  2. Click on for your profile photo
  3. On the bottom you need to see a container that asserts No Photo
  4. Click on it and you are accomplished!
