WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in India. It has more than 200 million-plus active users and become the country's favorite chat app because it supports many local Indian languages. These include Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati and Kannada, among several others.

To change the language in the app, all you you need to do is:

1. Open WhatsApp

2. Tap on the menu button

3. Go to Settings

4. Head to Chat and open App Language

3. Choose the language of your choice from the Popup that appears.

4. Depending on your phone's capabilities, the list may include: English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada and Malayalam. Select the language of your choosing.

One thing you keep in mind that WhatsApp follows the language of the phone. For instance, if you change your phone's language to Hindi, then WhatsApp will automatically be in Hindi. However, depending on whether your handset runs onAndroidor iOS you may have to follow a little different procedure.

For iPhone users:

1. Open Settings app

2. Tap on General

3. Go to Language & Region

4. SelectiPhoneLanguage

5. Select the language you want to choose.

6. Open WhatsApp and find all text appearing in that language.
