Depression is regarded as a sort of mental disorder and is not easy to tackle with. It has degrees and depending on that different patients may need different kinds of treatment. Best way to deal with it is to seek help and follow the instructions of your psychiatrist.

These days depression is mostly related to anxiety and psychiatrists often recommend anti anxiety pills for medication but they are usually not preferred by the patients as they make you emotionally numb. But it's better to take them in initial stage as later the condition could get worse and therapy may not be able to cure it.

Medication can be very useful. But isn’t a long-term solution. If your depressive state is persistent and swaying at the extreme ends, yes you can take the medication under the prescription of a qualified doctor.

All the while, you should opt for therapy. Understand that there isn’t a choice between medication and therapy. They are both needed to fight off the Depression. So, go to therapy sessions as well. From my personal experience, this can be of great help. At times of depression, talking to someone qualified will ease your inner pain. One drawback here is therapy sessions could be quite costly.

The better the professional is, the more you will have to pay. At such times, if you’re short in budget, talking to a close friend or family could be of equal help. Depression is an equivalent to cancer. Sadly, many people don’t recognize it that way. It’s bad, very bad. It doesn’t have any temporary solution.

Take medications if things are worst. But don’t get addicted to it. Find a holistic solution. Try to claw your way back up by changing your mindset. Of course, this is going to be difficult. It’s not impossible though. There are many people who have successfully beaten depression with their determination and consistency. And you can be one of them.

Hold on. Try to survive for one more day. Talk to people who love you. Things will get better. You will get out of this gutter. Be strong!
