The whole "Delulu is Solulu" mantra is honestly appealing but I think it's way oversimplified as a stress management tool.
Gen Z uses delusions to help them manifest things and enables them to deal with ambiguous circumstances where they can feel a sense of control, using delusional thinking as a coping mechanism to lessen stress or worry temporarily. While I get the appeal of just pretending everything's fine, the reality is that disconnecting from reality and imagining a better one is not always the solution but can often create more problems than it solves, and while the delulu mentality can relieve tension for a time, in the long term problems we tried to escape from are still there or have grown under the shadow of denial.
I think using some delulu thinking as a confidence boost is fine, but relying on it as your main stress management strategy is honestly setting yourself up for disappointment. There's a reason actual mental health professionals recommend grounding and reality checking, not doubling down on delusion.
