With the extension of technology, people are getting to see its benefits as well. This is the era of online shopping and e payments, and according to experts India may become a shopless economy within a few years. The thought is good, but according to me, it is not feasible as such.

Indian economy is a mixed economy in which everything is not based on just one model or field. Making India a shopless economy will affect the small traders and businessmen the most and they have major contribution in the economy. A mixed economy needs both offline and online fields to function.

The rapid increase in online shopping and services might make you believe that everything will turn online in a few years, but many of us don’t see the limits and restrictions of these services.

I’m not saying that decrease in the number of shops is not possible in the coming time in India. It is happening even now. Extending technology and lack of time are contributing very well to support such services. So offline economy can lessen but cannot be closed down entirely.
