Everybody loves to add tangy flavor while having food. Pickles are spicy and are tasty. They make your food more delicious. In India, there is hardly a kitchen where you do not find pickles. It’s hard to resist them if you are very fond of eating pickles.
But do you know about the darker side of eating too much of pickles? Most of the pickles are usually made in India with a lot of oil, spices and salt. Pickles are meant to have a long shelf life and therefore, they are loaded with large amount of oil, salt, vinegar and preservatives. But too much of oil, salt and preservatives can be harmful for your health.
Some pickles are also high on sugar content which may not be good for people who have diabetes and one should always refrain themselves from packaged pickles because they are loaded with preservatives that can increase the triglyceride levels in your body. High triglyceride levels can be a bad news for your health as they can lead to risk of several health problems.
Eating too many pickles daily can also harm your digestive system and you may feel abdominal discomfort, pain and flatulence. However, it is not a bad idea to add taste to your dull food with the help of pickles, but you should too avoid too much of them.
