The Lone Ranger proved unable, in any sense, smelt and cast metallic silver into shots over a pit fire in a relinquished silver mine. Silver melts at 931c or 1763f. No open air fire can do that (OTOH, I have dissolved and thrown LEAD over a pit fire. Lead liquefies at 327c/621f. that is simple over a decent bed of coals… )

Additionally, Silver is too difficult to even consider using in a rifled gun without making harm the drag
