Is WiFi Harmful to Your Health or Safe for Everyday Use?

The world in which we live today, is full of technologies and new innovations. These technological gadgets have undoubtedly made our life easier. The technology like Wi-Fi, has allowed us to go wireless by which we can enjoy the use of internet at any place and any time.

Wi-Fi is a set of electromagnetic radiations through which it creates wireless connectivity through signals. There are many arguments about whether Wi-Fi is safe or not. Firstly, Wi-Fi is comforting us in many ways but on the other side, humans are becoming lazy and have stopped using their mind and body.

Other than this, electromagnetic radiations don’t affect in a day. It takes a proper course of time to affect the human body. These radiations can interfere with our bodily functions which may eventually inculcate into diseases like cancer and neurodegenerative diseases after long term exposure. International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) considers wireless radiation as a class 2B possible carcinogen due to limited evidence. These small number of studies are leaning towards showing that electromagnetic radiations, including Wi-Fi, are not safe.

There are many complex diseases which develop over time. Thus it is difficult to directly say that wireless signals are the direct cause of diseases. There are many complex diseases that develop over decades and it is difficult to conclusively show that the increase in wireless signal exposures directly cause the diseases. But still we should minimize the use of Wi-Fi and choose hard work instead.

Wifi radiation is generally inversely proportional to the distance, that is, people farther away from the wireless device, the smaller the radiation. The radiation used by our home wireless router is generally small. The power density at the wifi antenna is about 10 microwatts per square centimeter. But the working or high-power wireless wifi devices (such as mobile base stations) radiation is great, so these devices are generally installed in the far away from the housing location.

The human body can withstand the maximum radiation is 10 watts / square meter, so as long as no more than this limit will not have immediate harm to the human body. However, the impact of radiation on pregnant women, children, the elderly and a number of specific patients is great. So these people need to pay more attention away from wifi equipment.

Wi-fi routers are weaker transmitters even than mobile phone masts, and users sit away from them. The level of energy produced by a Wi-Fi router is very low, far too low to be able to disrupt DNA, so there is no mechanism for it to be carcinogenic.
