Lectin protien is found in all the plants like peas, beans, lentils and peanuts.and also in whole grains like wheat contain the large amount of lectins.Protiens which bind carbohydrate structures are known as lectins. The chief function of lectins is to facilitate cell-cell contact.lectins can be divided into classes on the basis of their amino acid sequences and biochemical properties .one large class is the c type found in animals. C type is calcium type lectins.
