CSK vs SRH sure as hell looked fixed with desperate attempts to make it look otherwise.
Like, for example, for a change, Sunrisers Hyderabad somehow managed to set a big target; something they struggled with the whole season. Also, they had few very soft dismissals like that of Shakib Al Hasan.
The first half of the second inning in CSK vs SRH looked very much in the favor of SRH. Chennai lost 2 wickets in the first few 9 overs. Shane Watson failed to score even a single run in his first 10 balls. And then out of nowhere we saw the tide shift. Siddharth Kaul, possibly one of the best bowlers in the tournament, started conceding big runs every over. Rashid Khan failed. The body language of SRH looked dull after 12 overs, even when they were in the game till then. There were few close catch-out attempts that made things look competitive.
When you combine all these things, it’s hard not to overlook the fact that IPL 2018 final was very well fixed in favor of CSK.
But then again, keeping our cynicism aside, is that even possible?! With millions and millions of people watching from around the world, crores, and crores of money at stake, was it even possible to fix IPL 2018 final? Theoretically, it looks very difficult. Besides, what would the organizers get if Chennai Super Kings won the tournament?! Nothing to evident eyes.
Maybe all these fixing talks are coming out from us as a fan who wanted Sunrisers Hyderabad to win. Maybe it’s hard for us to digest the fact that Dhoni-led team won a tournament AGAIN!
Regardless, it’s hard to confirm that IPL 2018 final was fixed or not. But if looked closely and analyzing different aspects of the match, CSK vs SRH sure looked that one team was favored more.
Confusing, I know. I am just as confused!
