Hernia is a disease condition that occurs when an organ pushes through an opening in the muscle or tissue that fixes it properly. Usually, it takes place in stomach or intestine. Most common symptom of hernia is the presence of a lump in the affected area and pain around the lump. This lump will disappear when you lie down. Other symptoms include abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension, groin discomfort, tenderness etc. Hiatal hernia shows symptoms like chest burn, chest pain, difficulty in swallowing etc.
