Unless, you’ve been living under a rock, it is now common knowledge that famous Bollywood actress Sridevi passed away on Late Saturday night in Dubai. She had gone there along with her family to attend a relative’s wedding. After the wedding, her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi returned to India on Wednesday but Sridevi stayed back to spend time with her sister. Her elder daughter Jhanvi couldn’t make it in the first place due to her shooting schedule for her upcoming debut film ‘Dhadak’.
On Saturday evening, Boney Kapoor, husband of Sridevi flew back to Dubai to surprise her and take her out for dinner in true romantic sense. However, after she went to the hotel’s bathroom to freshen up and didn’t come out for a long time, Boney Kapoor forcefully entered and found her unconscious in the bathtub. Upon reaching the hospital it was declared that she had indeed passed away.
Initially, headlines and news reports stated her cause of demise to be a sudden and severe cardiac arrest. Many theories surfaced online at the time blaming ‘cosmetic surgeries and unnatural ***** modifications’ for the sudden untimely death. There was no proof for them, of course. However after her autopsy earlier today, it was found that the cause of her death was ‘accidental drowning’. Not only this, but traces of alcohol were also found in her body. This has given rise to a lot of public speculation with people wondering as to what really happened in the hotel bathroom that night.
Some people found it hard to believe that a grown and poised woman like Sridevi who was known for her grace and spectacular dance skills could possibly “lose her balance and knock herself unconscious in the bath tub”, while others suggested that it seemed unusual for the death certificate to state the cause of death as “accidental” drowning. But amidst all scrutiny, one thing is sure that whatever really happened will only be properly revealed once the investigation is completed. This was also causing a delay in the final rites ceremony of the late actress. And the case has now been forwarded to the Public Prosecution in Dubai.
