Physiography is defined as the outcome of of structure, process, and stage of development.There are major six physical divisions of India:-
- The Northern and North-eastern Mountains
- The Northern Plain
- The Peninsular Plateau
- The Indian Desert
- The Coastal Plains
- The Islands
The Northern Mountains include parts of Himalayas. The Northern Plain lie to south to Himalayas. Peninsular Plateau is a region of various hill ranges and valleys. The Indian Desert is a dry, hot and sandy stretch of land. The Coastal Plains is situated to the West of the Western Ghats and the East of Eastern Ghats. The Islands are Lakshadweep Islands and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands.
