Netflix until now was popular for American and British series. India however, is considered as the biggest potential market for the streaming giant. India’s Sacred Games has just made its debut on the Netflix, and it’s getting quite a positive response worldwide.
Based on a novel with the same name by Vikram Chandra, the series will have four seasons and the first season with eight episodes, which is currently streaming, is only a fraction of the story. The story is a must watch as it portrays the lives of the high and the low, the rich, and the wretched in Mumbai weaved with a single thread which is the story of a gangster mob and the police inspector Sartaj Singh.
If this is not enough for you, then you should know that the cast is just next to perfect and so is the direction. It’s a perfect combination with Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Radhika Apte, working with directors like Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Enjoy this series on Netflix and wait for some more upcoming and promising ones from India. As Netflix reports, two series, Selection Day and Bard of Blood are expected soon. It has also announced to streamline an adaptation of the British-Indian author Salman Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children.
Other original series that can be expected from India on Netflix are Leila, Ghoul and Crocodile.
