From my perspective, while Claude is an incredibly capable AI assistant, there are definitely some real limitations that users should be aware of.

First and foremost, there's the issue of hallucinations. Claude can sometimes generate information that sounds plausible but is completely fabricated. I've seen this happen when asking about very niche topics or recent events. It's like the model is filling in gaps with convincing-sounding but inaccurate information. This is particularly problematic if you're using Claude for research or fact-checking without verifying the answers.

Another significant limitation is the knowledge cutoff. The training data only goes until January 2025, which means it can miss recent developments, breaking news, or updates to existing information. This is a hard constraint. Additionally, there are usage limits that have become increasingly restrictive.

As of April 2026, users are hitting daily and weekly rate limits much faster than expected, especially with heavy workloads. Some users report maxing out their usage within hours. There are also reliability concerns in Claude Code, where token usage has spiked unexpectedly, and some users report degraded performance after certain updates.

Privacy is another concern, though Anthropic has generally maintained strong privacy practices, users need to be cautious about what sensitive information they share. Lastly, Claude doesn't have real-time internet access by default without web search enabled, which limits its usefulness for time-sensitive information.
