In India six major type of soil are found-
1. Alluvial soil- they are found in the Northern plains and the coastal plains. They are made up of reach aluminium deposited by the river and they are very fertile.
2. Black soil - The North Western part of the Deccan plateau is covered by fertile black soil which are derived from the weathering of Lava rock.
3. Red soil - red soil are found in the southern and eastern part of peninsular India. There is reddish because of the presence of iron and are poor in fertility.
4. Laterite soil - part of the eastern and Western ghats and Northern India have laterite soil which are quite infertile.
5. Mountain soil- which oca in the Himalayan region.
6. Desert soil- which are found in the dry region mainly Rajasthan.
