What are the ways to relieve from arthritis pain at home?

Anything that is easily available in or around your home, and has a medicinal use, may be used as a home remedy. Substances such as clove, cinnamon, black pepper, cumin, fennel, rock salt, turmeric, coriander, ginger, honey, licorice, garlic, onion, basil and mint are generally regarded as effective home remedies. Ayurveda also prescribes some exercises, massaging techniques, aromas and cleansing therapies as natural home remedies.

Some home remedies for arthritis pain are-

1)Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata.

2)Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening.

3)For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling

4)Use warm sesame oil to massage stiff and painful joints in the morning. Massage improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation and stiffness.

5)Boil 10-12 slices of ginger in 8 cups of water for 5 minutes and let it steep for another 10-15 minutes. Drink this tea at a warm temperature throughout the day.

6) Go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid or semi-solid diet for an entire day, depending on your strength.
