While buying a car, you are making a long term deal and therefore you should be as judicious as you can. Some of the things that must not be ignored at any cost when you are choosing a car for yourself are as follows:

• A new car should be used at least eight years to get a full return on investment. So if you buy a car in December, it would become an old model just the next month, which would affect the price at which you would sell your car.
• According to the more experienced, the price of a car should not be more than 60% of your annual take-home income. The big discounts on bigger cars may entice you but they the price may not suit your pocket positively.
• You should think judiciously when choosing between the petrol, diesel or CNG car. Petrol car are cheaper than the diesel cars, but petrol is costlier than diesel. So the choice depends on the usage and travel.
• Try getting more than one (at least two) test drives. It is recommended to have at least two test drives so that you are sure about you and your family’s comfortability.
