To become a certified nutritionist in India, one must have these degrees-

1. B.Sc. Home Science in Foods & Nutrition (Day Scholar.)
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics OR M.Sc. in Foods & Nutrition (only)
3. Six months of continuous internship (or 3+3 months) from recognised hospitals listed on the IDA website OR 2 years' experience in a multispecialty hospital as a full-time dietitian.

Apart from this it also requires a particular set of skills like good communication skills, an aptitude for food and nutrition, can work effectively in teams, has organisational skills and abilities and a thorough knowledge of the people from diverse backgrounds.
Nutritionists have a good reputation in society, and so they earn a handsome salary depending upon their degrees and experience.
