Carbs are basically the short form of Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are macronutrients and one of the basic food groups important for a healthy life. They are one of the three main ways on how the body obtains energy or calories.Carbohydrates or carbs provide fuel for the central nervous system and provides energy for muscles to function well.

These are avoided in the latest times because it prevents protein from being used as an energy source and enable ***** metabolism.Carbohydrates are such a broad category and you need to understand that not all carbs are the same. There are different types, quality and quantity of carbohydrate which can be useful and harmful to your diet.

Carbohydrates are classified as simple or complex. Simple carbs are digested and absorbed more quickly and easily than complex carbs, so, go for the complex carbs. For a healthy diet, you should reduce the amount of sugar based carbs. You should rather go for meals on starchy carbs, particularly the less processed wholegrain varieties.

Carbohydrates are found in foods like rice, bread, pasta, potatoes, fruits, sugar, and many processed snacks. Their main job is to give your body energy. In fact, carbs are the body’s quickest and preferred source of fuel, especially for your brain and muscles.

When you eat carbs, your body breaks them down into glucose (sugar), which enters your blood and provides energy for daily activities like walking, thinking, working, and exercising. Without carbs, you may feel tired, weak, or low on energy.

So if carbs are important, why do so many people suggest avoiding them?

The main reason is how modern diets have changed. Today, many people eat refined and processed carbs instead of natural ones. Refined carbs include white bread, sugary drinks, cakes, biscuits, and fast food. These foods are low in nutrients and high in calories. They are quickly digested, causing a spike in blood sugar levels, followed by a crash that can make you feel hungry again very soon.

This cycle of high sugar and frequent hunger is one reason why excessive carb intake is linked to weight gain and obesity. That’s why many diet trends like keto or low-carb diets became popular—they focus on reducing these fast-digesting carbs to help control weight and blood sugar.
