Google Classroom is a modern way to teach students. It is a free web service that is developed by Google for schools that mainly focuses on simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way.
It lets teachers create online classrooms where they can distribute, collect, and manage classwork. It also allows teachers to communicate and collaborate with students and their guardians.
This unique platform was introduced as a feature in G Suite for Education - a former Google app for education. In March 2017, Google opened classroom to allow any personal Google user to join classes without the requirement of having a G Suite for Education account, and in April 2018, it became possible for any personal Google user to create and teach a class.
It can be used as a platform to share study materials and other relevant documents with your students. It allows teachers to share files from their computer, YouTube videos, Google Drive links, or any other relevant URLs. As it is stored online, students can access it from anywhere, and even on mobile devices.
