What is Hydrail? What are its advantages?

Germany has launched world’s first Hydrogen train. The main objective behind the production of this train was to check increasing pollution and global warming. This train operates with Hydrogen gas and hence is names Hydrail. The train has been designed and created by the French company Alstom. It was first started in Germany’s Bremervoerde on 17th September.
The cost of this train is very expensive, but the cost of its operation is less. Two big trains, of blue color started operated from this Monday in two German cities – Bremerhaven and Buxtehude. The CEO of Alstom, Henri Poupart, says that the company aims at constructing 14 such trains which will help in checking pollution by operating through Hydrogen, till 2021.
Advantages of Hydrail:
• Instead of Diesel, this train runs on Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Fuel Cell. Energy is produced through the combining of Oxygen and Hydrogen, which instead of converting into smoke as residue, converts in water and vapors. The unwanted energy and pollutants are collected by ion lithium batteries. The smoke produced by diesel is a big reason of air pollution. Hydrail, therefore, is one major step towards making pollution-free transportation systems.
• Hydrail can cover 1,000 kilometers of distance with just one Hydrogen tank. So along with being environment friendly, it’s pocket friendly as well.
• According to the trials, before the commencement of this train, Hydrail produces 60% less noise than a diesel train. So it does not only check air pollution, but noise pollution as well.
After Germany, Netherlands, Britain, Denmark, Italy, Norway, and Canada have also shown interest in Hydrail. And France is thinking of starting it by 2020.
